About

Hi, I’m Gen

For the past 15 years, I’ve been studying, researching, and experimenting with different ways to improve my health and energy.

I’ve tried countless approaches — low-calorie diets, meal replacements, intense exercise routines, keto, emotional healing work, and even deeper explorations into how stress and mindset affect the body. Like many people searching for answers, I followed what was considered “healthy,” hoping something would finally work.

Some things helped. Many didn’t.

And here on this blog, I share what has truly helped me — and what I continue to discover along the way.

My Story (Short Version)

My health journey started in college when I developed a skin condition that wouldn’t go away.

After years of dermatologist visits and medications that often made things worse instead of better, I realized I needed to start asking different questions. What began as a search for relief slowly turned into years of studying nutrition, functional health, stress physiology, and the deeper connection between the mind and the body.

For a long time, I did everything “right” — fasting, walking daily, reducing sugar, avoiding stimulants — yet many symptoms remained.

Real change only started when I stopped focusing on the body alone and began addressing stress, mindset, and emotional patterns alongside nutrition.

Why I Created “Your Health Reminder”

Most of us spend our days on autopilot — waking up, working, eating, scrolling, and sleeping… only to repeat it the next day.

We make time for everything — except ourselves.

And while we often think we’re being “healthy” by doing some form of exercise or cutting out one or two foods, true health goes much deeper than that.

For years, I was the same.

I was always busy, always learning, but never truly listening to my body.

That’s why I created Health Tidbits — as a gentle nudge for all of us (myself included) to slow down and take care of the body and mind that carry us through life.

One hour a day of mindful self-care — whether through movement, real food, rest, or reflection — can completely change how you feel, think, and live.

This blog is my reminder… and maybe it can be yours too.
